About:
Barbara Morris

A native Washingtonian-Virginian, I have been a licensed realtor for more than
twenty-one years.  I began my real estate career at the suggestion of an Air Force
Major I worked with at the Pentagon (whom I will never forget).

Employed by the largest broker in the area at the time, I was fortunate to be able to "sit-on" a new subdivision and work directly with the folks that actually build the homes, and help with the dreaded "punch list".  This training, in addition to walking countless properties with a terrific appraiser, has been invaluable.  When looking for or selling a home - I want you to know as much as I know!

After working in real estate for three years, I took a break.  After having a family, I got busy again.  I opened a personnel consulting firm that placed support staff with Government contractors, law firms, mortgage and settlement firms, among others.

After eight years, our market slowed.  I closed the firm and joined a small real estate company that focused on selling Government foreclosures.  During that time, I also worked with a non-profit group and was responsible for purchasing, rehabbing, and selling these foreclosures primarily to first time home buyers.

As the market improved, I transitioned back to traditional real estate.  During the past five years, I have worked with the foreclosure market again, in addition to "short sales".

I want everyone that moves to this Washington DC metro area to take advantage of all that we have to offer.  I love our vibrant history - especially with regard to the  Civil War era.  I am a voracious reader and a life-long tennis fan.  I love to travel - and I try to remain faithful to the Washington Redskins.

My personnel consulting experience allowed me to serve as an advocate for people; real estate has given me the opportunity to continue along that path.  My rule of thumb is:  When working with a homeowner - do not abuse - without them none of us would have anything to do.  When working with a purchaser - finding a home should be a joy.

I look forward to working with you!
